You may see both "0-3" (with dash) and "0/3" (with slash) — these are identical sizes, just different brand formatting. Some brands skip 6–9M and go from 6–12M directly. Both are approximately equivalent. 24M and 2T overlap: 24M is cut like infant styles (extra room in the seat for diapers, shorter torso), while 2T is designed for toddlers who may no longer need diaper room. For a 2-year-old still in diapers, choose 24M.
For baby swimwear, size by age range (same as clothing). Look for UPF sun protection. When in doubt, size up.
How to Measure Your Baby Weight: Use a standard home or pediatric scale. Weight is the most reliable guide for infant sizing — when age and size labels don't match, trust the weight. Height / Length: Lay your baby flat on a firm surface. Measure from the top of the head to the bottom of the heel. For babies who can stand, measure from the top of the head to the floor barefoot. Head Circumference: Wrap a soft tape measure around the widest part of the head, just above the ears and eyebrows. This is needed for hats and headbands. Pro tip: Babies grow fast. When between sizes, always size up — they'll grow into it quickly.
Janie and Jack's upscale boutique styles run slightly small. Size up one for the best fit.
